
Now to be clear, it's almost certain that KLM lost my luggage, and it's not the luggage handlers' problem. I told them the story and without even looking at my flight itinerary said it was transferred to my next flight (I had no contact with this security officer before, nor did they know anything about my situation prior). I went back to check again, but security would not let me back into the luggage area.

When I left luggage collection and went to the check in area, I asked a staff member if they could confirm it was sent through and they said with certainty that they would not have transferred my luggage and to go check again. When I asked about my luggage, the luggage staff said they transferred it to my next flight, which they don't do, and my itinerary said "baggage not checked through".
